Well, another National Live Gaming Conference done for this year. It must be the year of conferences 'cause not only did we do one in the UK in April, we've just done the Anzac on last week and then there's the next one on the calendar for November in Vegas! But I get ahead of myself. The Aussie Conference went well. It was at the beautiful Sirromet Winery - right across the road from our Mt Cotton Battlefield. Thank you to everyone who participated. It was a great turn out. We had delegates from WA, SA, NSW, VIC and of course QLD! More photos will be posted on the forum shortly - see http://forum.battlefieldlive.com
1st-May-2009 09:52 am - UK Conference a Success!

Just back from London, England having run the International LIVE Gaming Conference. It went well. Not only did we officially launch S*A*T*R in Europe, but the delegates also got to play a night fighting missing, a woodlands game, and a gaming inflatable clan war. Not being competitive at all [NOT!] the four teams vied for victory. But in the end only one can be glorious. You can see here PLAN (in the yellow vest) refereeing the games.

Meet C.O. Siren
C.O. Siren is the ‘go to’ gal for Battlefield LIVE. She is the cover girl for this month’s issue of Lock n Load. CO of course stands for Commanding Officer. Siren is her gaming handle/live gaming code name.
“She fits the bill perfectly as our commanding officer,” said Peter. “Siren captures the essential characteristics at the core of live gaming – personality: brawn, brains & beauty,” said Peter Lander.
Siren is 19 years old and lives on the Gold Coast, in Australia, where she is studying a Bachelor of Mass Communication at University.
You can see more of C.O. Siren shortly on the www.BattlefieldLIVE.com.au web site.
12th-Oct-2008 01:32 pm - What a Wild Ride!
keynote
Well September and October have been a wild ride for the financial markets! Despite this, as I wrote in September, local retail sales continue to surge.
(see http://www.battlefieldsports.com/RetailSalesSurgeDespiteEconomicSlowdown.htm )
And, as usual, there is a silver lining to any storm clouds. With the Aussie Dollar plunging this is great news for our overseas customers.

Also, did you know that 2008 marks the 20th Birthday of the Internet (as a commerical application). When I went to university - ok this is showing my age - the internet had never been heard of outside military organisations. Now, we couldn't do with out it!

From the first computer built in Australia: CSIRAC (pronounced 'sigh-rack') to the smartest iPhones today. It just goes to show you that people are ingenious, business will pick up, and optimism will prevail.
16th-Sep-2008 06:24 pm - I'm Excited! S*A*T*R beta
peterandme
HI Guys
I'm am really excited, the beta release of our next generation digital equipment: S*A*T*R is here!
And if I do say so myself - it's awesome!!
For the last 2 years our R&D Department have been working hard towards our big digital push. We have kept it under wraps until now because we were completely redeveloping our opto-electronics from the ground up. We have submitted a patent application for our new invention, and I'm please to say have been assessed, in a written opinion under the Patent Cooperation Treaty, to be novel, inventive and industrially applicable, as of January 2008. You see, it takes a LONG time to get a patent processed. In fact we first submitted our application back in 2006.

By the way S*A*T*R stands for Small Arms Transmitter/Receiver. Our goal was to take what we have learned at the coalface of commercial live gaming and deliver a solution that best meets the industry's needs without losing the strengths of system. The underlying game system and focus on the team is still the front and center, but the gamer experience is being further enhanced with instant hit-feedback, and authentic digital ingame statistics, as well has loads of other features.
